U Newsletteru o srbskim napadajima na Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, which was for almost a thousand years an oasis of Croatian sovereignty in the southern Adriatic, often in his history was attacked by Serbs. For instance in well known Serb-Montenegrian attack 1806 the whole surrounding of the famous old city was devastating, thousands of houses were burned.

The most recent attempt occurred in autumn 1991. Dubrovnik was heavy attacked by Serb leading Yugoslav army. They occupied a significant part of Dubrovnik area, killed hundreds of mostly civilian people. Damages on destroyed homes, infrastructures, cultural and historical monuments, are counted in billions of US dollars. However, in spite of huge military advantage Serbs did not succeed in their basic goal. One more time the ancient city resisted and stayed free.

The occupied surrounding territory was fried partly in May, and in total in October 1992.
